The Art of Living

Lord, sometimes we wander aimlessly throughout life without knowing what our true purpose in life really is. Each time we accomplish a certain goal we are not as happy as we initially thought we would be. We want more. Usually our goals consist of material things, such as for money, pleasures, adventures, and so on. Our goals are usually ego-oriented.
However, we sometimes forget that You are our true goal in life. The reason we are on this Earth is to learn more about You and Your Holy Ways. We forget this because we get caught up in earthly pursuits that do not bring any lasting satisfaction. And how can these things bring any satisfaction if our only true satisfaction is You, Lord?
Teach us how to seek You in everything we do. It does not really matter what our earthly pursuit in this life is as long as we surrender the results to You. It is not following earthly pursuits that is the problem. The problem is that we neglect to revert everything back to You and to give You thanks for everything You have given us.
Many of us cannot renounce the world as many spiritual masters have done in the past. Be we can renounce the world in our hearts by surrendering everything to You.  We do not have to renounce the objects of this world. What is the point if we renounce the physical objects, yet remain bound at heart to them and still think about them consistently? If we physically renounce them but still desire them in our hearts, then we have not truly renounced anything. Yet, we can own them and not be attached to them in our hearts.
What matters is that we renounce things by surrendering them to You, and not care about the results. Teach us, Lord, how to work in the world for You. Whether that is sweeping, cleaning, walking, driving, or working in anything whatsoever. Teach us to offer all our activities up to you.
It is an art to learn how to do this, Lord. Teach us this art, and when we finally think of You in everything we do, then show us a way in which we can offer up our services to the benefit of others. Ultimately the most important thing is to learn how to make living an art.  And this art means making You our ultimate Life Purpose, and surrendering everything else to You

Moon in Swati Nakshatra

Do you have Moon in Swati Nakshatra? Swati Nakshatra is ruled by Vayu, or deified wind. Therefore, this Nakshatra's Shakti (power of expression) is to scatter like the wind. It expresses the desire for freedom and to move like the wind in all directions. It is a wanderer, a traveler, a seeker, and a messenger. If you have Moon in this Nakshatra, you do not like to be constrained in any one place or situation. You will try to run away if you feel like a situation or person is trying to tie you down. And you may not do this consciously. It is just that you are on a quest for freedom and fresh air. Vayu represents the divine breath of the gods. A strong Moon placed here will give you the ability to purify your mind and body through the power of breathing exercises effortlessly. You may have a natural talent for achieving deep meditative states through Pranayama.  Vayu also represents celestial music and you will show a desire or inclination towards music and artisti...

Mithuna (Gemini) Personality Traits

Mithuna is an air sign ruled by the planet Mercury.  Being the third sign of the zodiac, Mithuna is connected symbolically to the third house of Vedic Astrology, which is a Kama house ( Read: The Four Aims of Life The Purusharthas ).  Kama houses are 3, 7, and 11th house.  These are the desire houses.  Thus, Mithuna has an intense desire nature. Mithuna is flirtatious, loving, relational, easy-going, and sensuous.  However, they can be fickle in relationships because they can get bored very quickly.  But they do not just get bored in relationships; they quickly get bored with pretty much everything. Mithuna need A LOT of mental stimulation to keep them interested, and this also goes without saying in relationships. Mithuna are always processing information.  They need to be working on several different projects at once to be mentally satisfied.  They need several irons in the fire in order to fight boredom.  However, sometimes they may hav...

Rahu/Venus Conjunction in Paula Abdul's Vedic Astrology Chart

Julie Paula Abdul Date and Time of Birth: June 19, 1962 14:32 (2:32 PM; PTD -7:00) Place of Birth: Los Angeles, CA Paula Abdul is a famous American singer. She is a prime example of a person having a Rahu-Venus combination. According to Barbara Pijan Lama, Rahu- Venus gives “amplified beauty, pleasure, and wealth – an exotic (and perhaps notorious) love life”; as well as “exotic appetites of the physical body (addictions, excessive pleasures)”. For one thing we know she has beauty and wealth, no questions asked. As for a notorious love life, this comes along with being famous. In Paula’s case, she unfortunately is not the exception and has had two failed marriages which did not make it past the two-year mark. What are the reasons for this? If we take a look at her chart things seem to be somewhat clear-cut. Her 7thlord of relationships Jupiter is in the 6th house of obstacles. Its despositor (lord of that house) Saturn is with the nodes of the moon, Ketu and Rahu...
